Our mission at Practice Solutions has always been to empower providers to focus on patient care by relieving the burden of billing. This podcast is an extension of that mission. Providers that we have worked with share a common experience; insurance billing feels like trying to play a game that’s missing the rulebook. It doesn't have to be that way - we believe that peace of mind comes from education, and the podcast is structured to give you the knowledge to not only play the game, but win.
So who's leading this game? Meet your hosts, Jeremy and Kathryn Zug. They co-founded Practice Solutions, LLC in 2017 with a dream that providers don’t have to choose between helping people and making money. With reliable billing services and educational resources, they can do both.
Jeremy started in the mental health industry back in 2009, making paper charts at a community mental health center. There he met many therapists and was able to work with them until he went to college in 2012, where he and Kathryn met. They both worked in separate private practices in college, gaining a lot of industry knowledge and experience. Then, in 2017, former colleagues from Jeremy's high school job reached out to see if they'd be willing to do their billing. They said yes and quickly began to scale their procedures and processes to help therapists realize their fullest revenue potential through insurance billing.
Practice Solutions has grown to over 30 billing experts who have served thousands of practices, with thousands of health professionals gaining insight from their website every week. The podcast is a new way for Practice Solutions to support providers, presenting what we’ve learned about billing in a digestible format to help private practices thrive.
On The Claim Game, we'll introduce you to two types of experts: Game Makers and Game Changers. Game Makers are the visionaries who build the systems, while Game Changers are the innovators who challenge the status quo and find new ways to win. You'll hear from them, from us, and from other leaders in the field. Our episodes are designed to simplify the complex landscape of revenue cycle management (RCM). We'll give you the strategic action and practical tools you need to win.
We're using the metaphor of a game to make insurance billing less boring and scary. We believe it's the perfect way to understand RCM, because you're playing a game that has rules. You may not have an interest in doing billing yourself, but you need to know enough to understand if it's being done well. We'll help you dive into each of the six territories of RCM: Credentialing, Patient Registration, Eligibility and Benefits, Payment Posting, Aging Follow-up, and Claim Submission. We'll be giving you an overview of these domains in our first episode, with future episodes dedicated to diving deeper into each one. We'll also use "case study cards" to look at real-life situations—the successes and the blunders—to help you learn from past games.
The ideal audience for The Claim Game is any healthcare provider in private practice who deals with insurance, whether they're a solo practitioner, part of a group practice, or an administrative staff member. Our goal is to serve you wherever you are, whether you're just starting, feeling overwhelmed, or leading a successful practice. By tuning in, you'll gain the knowledge and confidence to evaluate your RCM systems and ensure your hard work is getting paid, all while staying informed and connected to some of the key players in the insurance landscape.
The first four episodes of The Claim Game are available Friday, August 1, wherever you get your podcasts. New content will be released weekly after that. Get ready to make your move to optimize your practice's financial game.
